First Pole Leads To First Win - Go! Lewis, Go!
In an absolutely crazy day of F1 racing Lewis Hamilton broke his F1 duck with a win on just his 6th attempt.
While all around him were losing their heads, Lewis kept his cool to motor through to an amazing win, despite FOUR safety car slow downs. At one point he was 20 seconds in the lead and as each time the safety car was called out and his advantage was lost he remained focused and kept his lead after each slow down.
Lewis father Anthony was watching in tears of joy as his son climbed the podium to receive his winners trophy. Anthony Hamilton had to take on two jobs to support Lewis early racing days but all that hard work, both from father and son, has paid off and today he looked the proudest dad on Earth - a fantastic, early, Fathers Day gift!
Amongst all the chaos Hamilton remained calm but the day was marred by an horrific accident by Robert Kubica which left him with a broken leg and brings back to reality just how dangerous a sport this really is.
Even Alonso had a troubled day, finishing just 7th and the result means that once again Lewis leads the drivers championship on 48 points.
An another incredible chapter in the career of this incredibly talented young man. The stats speak for themselves - 6 starts, 6 podium finishes, 1 win and top of the Drivers' Championship.
